Housing Pays for Itself, New Studies Finds
New homes in Kershaw and Sumter Counties, SC pay for themselves, according to new studies commissioned by the Building Industry Association of Central SC (BIA) and conducted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Results of the study on the economic impact of housing in Sumter County study will be released at a meeting of the Sumter Chamber of Commerce on November 10th at 8:00 a.m. at USC Sumter Nettles Auditorium, 200 Miller Road, Sumter. Both studies will be presented by Robert Dietz, Ph.D., Chief Economist for NAHB. Dr. Dietz’s responsibilities include housing market analysis, forecasting and industry surveys, and housing policy research. Prior to joining NAHB in 2005, Robert worked as an economist for the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the Ohio State University in 2003.
In addition to the housing study presentation Dietz will offer a national and regional economic outlook.
